Student support and intervention - in class and beyond
The use of these resources is in accordance with expectations in the Student Conduct Procedure (32.05.001). They are intended to support progressive action promoting appropriate student behaviour and help resolve conduct concerns at the faculty and department level. Documentation relating to this procedure is held confidentially in-faculty and/or by the VIU Office of Conduct and Care only and will not be reflected in academic records or transcripts.
Please consult your faculty guidelines about timelines and appropriate involvement of chairs and deans.

Student advocacy
All VIU students are members of the Students’ Union and should be aware they have the right to consult the Students’ Advocate anytime. Students’ Advocacy is provided by the Students’ Union and is a confidential service for students. Academic integrity
Student Affairs provides support for students, faculty and staff for non-academic student misconduct issues.
Academic conduct issues are, where possible, addressed at the instructional and departmental level through the Academic Integrity Policy. Reasonable effort should also be made to address student classroom conduct at this level.
